I just turned 45 the other day (lol)
If you round it up, I'm in my mid-fifties...for better or worse, my mindset hasn't changed at all.
I want to do this, I want that to hurt, I want to do more...the lyrics of The Blue Hearts came to mind when I heard this old man say that.
In fact, my daughter was born the day after my 30th birthday.
I got the best gift of my life!
We all age equally, so she's 15.
I learn new things every day and it seems like I'm growing more and more.
It's a great thing that things grow...
I will make an effort every day to improve myself, even if it is just a little bit.
Above all, I want to savor the joy of being able to make a living doing what I love.
I've strayed from the topic of fashion, but I'm going back to the main topic (lol).
Today, I would like to introduce a piece that has been painstakingly developed from the yarn composition, and is likely to become a new standard.
honeycotech polo shirt
The coronavirus has drastically changed many environments and values around the world.
Last year, online meetings via ZOOM and other methods became commonplace.
At such a time, what attracted attention was an outfit that was both relaxed and yet looked stylish.
This is a polo shirt that melple hasn't released in a long time.
However, I started to feel like it was about time for people to start wearing polo shirts, and I also considered the needs during the coronavirus pandemic, so I began developing the product.
I myself loved Ralph Lacoste polo shirts, and I still love them to this day.
For our generation, polo shirts are synonymous!
What is the approach that is different from such a big name? First of all, I thought about such a basic part.
The conclusion I came to was: 1) an item that I could wear and that I would want to wear for the next 10 to 20 years; 2) an item that is different and that speaks for its details, rather than relying on a single accent like Polo or Lacoste; and 3) a unique, highly functional material for a new era. I proceeded with the development based on these three pillars.
As I wrote earlier, it seems like it's about time for polo shirts in the fashion industry too, and it seems like a lot of companies are releasing polo shirts this spring.
Select shops probably try to express the current mood to the fullest, but they sell a lot of extremely oversized items that make you think, "I won't be able to wear this next year or two."
For me, the essential requirement for a polo shirt is that it is relaxed, has a reasonable amount of room, yet still looks neat.
For this reason, the width is slightly loose, but it is not super oversized like so many on the market.
This is a piece I can wear for a long time, even next year and the year after that...even when I get to the age where I start worrying about my tummy (lol).
And while there wasn't a single focal point, we paid particular attention to the details in every part.
The collar is slightly smaller, giving a clean impression and a modern feel.
The distinctive pocket is designed like the sunglasses pocket that melple has previously offered.
It has been perfectly balanced and is set at an angle that makes it easy to store and take out your sunglasses.
Knitted ribbing is also added to the pocket openings to add a little accent.
The sleeve attachment may be familiar to fans of American casual style, but it features freedom sleeves, a detail of vintage sweatshirts that were only produced for a short period in the 1940s and 1950s.
The S-shaped sleeves have no seams under the arms, so you can move your arms freely without feeling any stress.
It's a detail that was only used for a certain era because it required so much time and effort.
For this reason, in addition to its appearance, it is also suitable for active wear such as golf.
And the cuffs.
We knitted several different types of ribbing and went through a process of trial and error to create this product.
At first glance, you'll notice that there's something different about it, and we've also taken comfort into consideration.
It's also a point of passion that was created by mixing three different knitting techniques (laughs).
The hem has a slit, as is standard for polo shirts.
And a honeycotech tag attached to the hem.
I think everyone is probably thinking, "This is the first time I've heard of honeycotech!"
It's a word I made up to refer to a technical material with a honeycomb structure (laughs).
Honeycotech is a fabric that meets high standards for quick drying, antibacterial properties, deodorizing properties, cooling sensation to the touch, and weak acidity.
I can't go into the details, but it is a honeycomb-structured fabric made specially from a blend of two special types of yarn.
The honeycomb structure of the knit gives it a bumpy texture and reduces the surface area that comes into contact with the skin, so it feels smooth and not sticky.
The fabric is designed to be extremely effective at suppressing unpleasant odors such as sweat smell, which is a concern for older men.
It also has the effect of preventing Moraxella bacteria, which is the source of bad odors when drying clothes indoors.
I don't think it's really necessary for older guys (many people don't care), but it has a weak acid effect and is gentle on the skin (lol).
So I thought about it from various angles and I think I've created the best polo shirt I've ever made.
Available in three colors this season.
Refreshing white.
This is sure to become an essential piece for the summer!
I'd like to try pairing it with a simple navy blue chinos.
The black has a subtle sheen to it, giving it a slightly dressy impression.
It would also look good with wide shorts.
And brown ♪
It took a lot of effort and dedication to develop this color.
Brown is hard to wear if it turns reddish, and even if it's thin, it doesn't match the image.
Through repeated trial and error, we have come up with our uncompromising, absolutely favorite brown.
So I started heavy rotation right away.
This style has been loved for a long time and is extremely versatile.
I'm looking forward to wearing this for a long time starting this summer!
