A flannel shirt that lets you feel the sea breeze

潮風感じるフランネルシャツ♪
For the past few days, I've been sneezing and my eyes have been itchy...
This symptom occurs at this time every year.
But I don’t want to admit that I have hay fever (lol)
I hope the seasons change soon!

Well, last time I mentioned " melple / Recommended Styling for this Season "
Today we will introduce the `` Nazare Flannel Shirt '', which incorporates melple's unique style.

Portugal / A small port town located about two hours drive north from the capital Lisbon.
It was also one of my main destinations when I went to Portugal in November 2019.

The delicious Portuguese cuisine, especially the fresh fish, remains in my heart even now.
The fishermen of Nazareth have long worn flannel shirts with a unique design.

The town's museum or archives also had a lot of old photographs on display, and what really caught my eye was their unique style.

I've been curious about this shirt for a while now, and I'd love to go and hear more about it in person and see the product for myself!!
With that in mind, I set out for Nazareth.

I went to the store I had researched, talked to various people, and looked through the many Nazareth shirts to find the one I liked (lol).

I bought three shirts and a pair of weird pants.

I was actually planning to have a shirt made for melple at this store, but
As you can see, he is old, doesn't speak English, and finds doing business overseas difficult, so he sampled a shirt he had purchased and updated some small details to recreate it as the `` Nazare Flannel Shirt .''

To keep out the sea breeze, the collar is stand-up and has two buttons.

The rounded collar is also to prevent it from flapping in the sea breeze.
The most distinctive features of this shirt are the three diagonally placed buttons on the front placket and the vertical stripes that extend from both shoulders.
This unique detail has been faithfully reproduced to create a distinctive finish.

The original hem is flat, but we've updated it with a nice rounded hem.

As for the fabric, the original was mostly 100% wool and a bit heavy,
Melple uses brushed flannel made from cotton.
The material can be worn in many seasons, such as a light jacket in early spring or as an inner layer in autumn and winter.

The ombre check pattern also looks really nice.

I haven't made many shirts over the past few seasons, but I felt like it had been a while since I last wore a shirt, so I decided to make one.
For me, travelling has always given me many inspirations, encounters, and opportunities, so I would like to incorporate the things I feel while travelling into my products.

That's why I think this is a truly melple-like piece.
I hope you will put this shirt on and feel the gentle sea breeze of Nazaré, Portugal.
