A companion that changes over time

経年変化を味わえる相棒
I haven't been able to go on business trips lately, so I've been looking back at old photos and practicing my image! (lol)
Among the various photos I've been taking is the shoot for melple's Look Book (image photos).

A few years ago, when I looked back at the style I was proposing about 10 years ago, I realized that "the things I like don't change."
I take full responsibility for my designs, so I hope to release items that are not the kind of things you wear for a short while and then quickly get tired of, but items that you can wear for a long time and that can grow old with you.

The other day, at a meeting, someone said, "Memories don't deteriorate." I would be very happy if this product could be a long-lasting, cherished item that accompanies your memories.

Well, this has become a long digression again, but... (laughs)
Today, the concept is "the wearer's way of life is engraved in the garment" and "it changes with time."
I would like to introduce you to "denim," a material that is familiar to many people.

Carpenter Selvedge Denim

In recent years, the fashion industry has seen a surge in sales of stretch pants made from so-called "synthetic fibers" such as nylon and polyester, as exemplified by melple's Tomcat.
The Tomcat is a classic and one that I can't live without.
I'm sure I'll continue to wear it in the future, combining it with a variety of styles.

However, humans always want what they don’t have (laughs).
I think that denim, which is synonymous with "natural fibers," is one such example of wishful thinking.

This denim is the first release in a long time, so we put a lot of care into it♪
First of all, I don't really like heavy denim such as 13 to 14 ounces, so I generally choose lightweight denim of around 11 to 12 ounces.

This time too, we selected from a wide variety of denim...
I chose 11oz white selvedge denim.
This denim is made using American cotton grown in Memphis, Tennessee, a city famous for its cotton cultivation.
The denim is painstakingly knitted on old looms in Kojima, Japan's world-renowned denim production center.

Denim woven on old looms really does have a different feel to it.
The perfect finish with just the right amount of napped American cotton, indigo blue color, and a soft feel to the touch.

On the other hand, the details this time are inspired by the slightly loose-fitting denim that American workers casually wear.
As you know, denim has long been loved by American workers.
We took inspiration from a style that could be said to be the roots of denim and added an update.

The biggest feature is the single tuck in the front.

It has one tuck and is finished in a loose fit from the waist to the hips.
Denim is something I tend to avoid during the summer.
If it fits tightly from your penis to your ass, it gets pretty hot and stuffy (lol)

I wanted to wear these jeans with a t-shirt and flip flops in the summer, so I made them loose around the waist.

And melple pants have a great silhouette! We listened to everyone's thoughts and carefully adjusted multiple checkpoints such as thighs, knees, and hems to create a beautiful tapered silhouette♪

The pocket design has been adjusted to make it easier to put your hands into the front pockets.

It has a zip fly so it's easy to add extra water.

The shape of the back pocket has also been carefully adjusted down to the millimeter.
Back pockets, which affect your appearance from behind, are more important than you might think.

By the way, this denim comes with an original bandana as a "bonus"♪
Most denim brands have a paper patch called a flasher, but most people who aren't otaku just throw it away (lol).

As a designer, I think that although it is just a flasher, it is still a flasher and a lot of care has gone into its design.
But in the end, it gets thrown away...
I wanted people to reuse it instead of throwing it away, so I attached a large bandana this time.

As you can see, you can use it to wrap your lunch box! We hope you will use it in a variety of situations.

I'm determined to wear them at least twice a week! I'm wearing them three times a week now (lol).
I wear vintage or second-hand clothes quite often, but it's been a while since I've worn jeans I made myself.

But surprisingly, it matches perfectly with my favorite items!
I'm once again realizing why it has been a beloved classic for so long.

3 months, 6 months, 1 year...
I have found a companion that I can look forward to enjoying over time, along with my memories.
